Applying Human Factors in Design

Sketching and wireframing is my preferred way to start planning a design. Various levels of fidelity allow testers to focus on the organization and placement of elements rather than their aesthetic qualities. I firmly believe in function before form; consequently the functional, back-end code should be planned alongside the developing, visual, front-end. While iterations of a design do not necessarily need to increase in detail or fidelity, frequent testing of major iterations is a must.

• Design of the Current Portfolio - A brief explanation of the design stages and wireframes for this portfolio.
• Improving Accessibility of Data in a Table - A course assignment making the contents of a data table easier to access and use.
• Redesign Exercise: Contact Lenses - An exercise in addressing the needs for displaying crucial information on the packaging of toric contact lenses.
• Personal Webcomic Site Redesign - Identification of a design's shortcomings led to a more usable and functional web site.
